Practices begin in November (open gyms start in September) with games typically scheduled the beginning of December through mid-February (with travel to Kalispell, Helena, Polson and other cities as the calendar allows). BHAA schedules games against Christian schools and other homeschool teams.

For the 2023-24 season, we will have Varsity and Junior Varsity Men's teams. If you are interested in playing this season with the Bitterroot Hawks, but have missed the registration meeting, please reach out ASAP.

There was not enough interest for a Women's team this year.  If you are interested in helping build a Women's team, please reach out to

General Info

Program Costs include team association fee (MCAA), uniforms, equipment, insurance, referees, and tournament fees. For the 2023-24 season, this cost is $100 + $200 fundraising per athlete.

Please read carefully the MCAA eligibility requirements on the general information page. Your student must currently be homeschooled and in grades 8-12. There are some exceptions for grade 7 students.

Quality of Play

This is competitive basketball, with high school rules. Playing time will be based on skill-sets, hustle, ability, performance, not to mention attitude toward your teammates and others. There is no guarantee of playing time or position. Our goal is to provide a high-quality, balanced program where talented athletes can grow physically and spiritually and where Jesus Christ is honored in all respects.

Coaching Philosophy

BHAA coaches are volunteers. Parents will be asked to provide support in several areas. If you feel you have a skill that you could use to help the program, please let us know. All we do reflects who we are in Christ. As such, we expect our players (and families) to be model athletes, exhibiting Christ-like behavior in all our interactions with our coaching staff, opponents, and referees.
